Lorna Shore is an American deathcore band from New Jersey. The band was formed in 2009 by original member Jeff Moskovciak, and named after a minor love interest of Batman, from the Batman Confidential series. The band’s first EP, Triumph (2010), is known to carry a metalcore sound, however, Lorna Shore’s natural path towards deathcore was found for second EP, Bone Kingdom (2012). It was the band’s third EP, Maleficium (2013), that gave the band their progressive edge, and Youtube hit single “Godmaker”. Following the release of their third EP, the band toured with The Black Dahlia Murder, I Declare War, Within The Ruins, Archspire, and Chelsea Grin. In 2015, Lorna Shore released their debut album, Psalms, under Density Records. The following year, Lorna Shore signed up to Outerloop Records, and released their second album, Flesh Coffin, in 2017. The album was led by single “Denounce the Light”, and second single “Fvneral Moon”.
In 2018, long running singer Tom Barber departed the band to join Chelsea Grin as their vocalist. The band replaced Barber with CJ McCreery (Signs of the Swarm). The band released two singles, "This Is Hell" and "Darkest Spawn", with McCreery and toured with Cattle Decapitation, Carnifex, and The Faceless. The following year, guitarist Connor Deffley departed the band, before they signed up to Century Media Records. Under the new deal, Lorna Shore released their third album, Immortal (2020), and toured with Fit for an Autopsy and Rivers of Nihil. They welcomed their new guitarist Andrew O'Connor later that year.
In 2019, the band fired McCreery due to abusive allegations and recruited Will Ramos as a stand-in. In 2021, the band released their most popular hit single “To the Hellfire” from their EP ...And I Return to Nothingness. The band also announced Ramos’ permanent position as Lorna Shore’s lead vocalist and frontman. The track is a monumental track for Lorna Shore, as it gave them a new found success. The track went on to peak at number four on Spotify Viral Chart’s Top 10, and was picked up by media outlets such as Revolver and Loudwire. In 2022, the band released their most notable hit single to date, “Sun//Eater”, leading the release of their fourth album, Pain Remains. The album debuts the band’s new bassist Michael Yager. In support of the album, the band released five more singles, "Into the Earth", "Cursed to Die", "Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames", "Pain Remains II: After All I've Done, I'll Disappear", and "Pain Remains III: In a Sea of Fire". Lorna Shore toured Europe in late 2022 in support of the album.
Lorna Shore have developed their sound from their first metalcore EP, all the way to their Pain Remains’ new take on deathcore, continuing their devotion to new discoveries within the band and their music. Their testament to growth is evident not only in their music and growing success, but also the scale of their worldwide fan base. At the moment, they bring in over 1 Million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.
